Welcome to the Department of Computer Science at Saarland University
To help you with the first steps in your studies and to orientate yourself, we will stand by your side during your first weeks on campus.
There are several offers for new students. For beginners in the bachelor course of study, we offer several extra courses before the semester starts. They are all in German.
Our offers for First-Years:
- Preparation Course in Mathematics (in German)
Orientation Day for new undergraduate Students (Bachelor of Science/ Studies for teaching profession).
Every semester there's an orientation day for new students, organized by the computer science student's association and the study coordinator. It will be completely in German and the focus is on beginners of the bachelor or teaching profession course of studies.
Orientation for new graduate students (Master course of study)
Every new Master student will get personal assistance whith registering at the university etc.
Please visit the office of our program coordination as soon as you are settled in Saarbrücken. In the office of the department you will get the magnetic card to enter the computer pools and help with other organizational things.
Introductory Lecture
There's an introductory lecture at the first day (monday) of lectures each semester. You will find the coordinates in our course list.
