The Competence Center of Computer Science was founded in 2004 with financial support by the state government. It represents a large number of research groups and institutes, related to computer science, and provides coordination and support.
By the brand "Informatik Saarland" the center offers information about research and education to industry, politics and the public. It supports international students and encourages technology transfer by providing assistance at every step along the chain of innovation from theory via prototypes to final products.
A focus of the center is to attract even more students and young scientists from around the world to start their scientific career in Saarland and thus to support the IT-based economy in the state.
